Item Details

A very good quality, 19th century beechwood breadboard with carved border. This is French and it dates from c.1880. It is carved with “Donnez nous notre pain quotidian” which translates as “Give us our daily bread”. The remainder of the border is very finely carved with flowers and foliage. The carving is super quality, with good depth and beautiful detail. The board is in excellent condition with just the usual, expected scratch marks to the face of the board from use.
