Item Details

A nineteenth century, sycamore breadboard carved with “Welcome”. This is carved in a Gothic script and the remainder of the border is carved with wheat and ribbons. It dates from c.1880. The carving is now very well worn, giving character to the board, and the wood has a nice, pale patina. There are knife marks to both the face and the reverse of the board from use.
Dimensions: Diameter 30cm. Depth 1.8cm.
