An attractive, 19th century sycamore breadboard. The border to this board is very well carved with wheat and barley. The design is quite unusual and the board dates from c.1880. It had suffered with some woodworm damage which was evident on both the face and the reverse of the board. This has been treated and filled so that it is not so noticeable. There is also one short split in the rim which is visible on the face of the board.
