Item Details

An unusual, 19th century, French copper jug with a hinged lid. This is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1840. The jug has castellated seams and the copper has a planished finish. The spout is a very unusual, narrow form and the flat, strap handle has a thumb plate hinge attached to the nicely shaped lid. This is a very attractive piece and it is in excellent condition. The tinning, to the interior, is slightly worn.
