Item Details

An interesting, English sycamore, rectangular butter print. This dates from c.1900. Most butter prints have the design carved into them so that, when pushed onto the butter, the design would stand up from the butter. This is in reverse and the design “BEST DAIRY” is raised so that it would press into the butter. There were three wood worm holes in the side of the print but these have been treated and filled so they are no longer active. Otherwise the piece is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Length 12.6cm. Width 5cm. Depth of print and handle 9.5cm.
