Item Details

A very unusual, Wedgwood, buff coloured stoneware vase with raised gilt decoration. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1870. Raised gilt decoration, in the oriental manner, was used by Wedgwood on basalt and also on Ivory ware but it is rarely seen on other bodies and this combination is both subtle and also very attractive. The vase is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 15.8cm. Diameter 10.4cm.
