Item Details

A Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip match box. This is marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1900. The lid is decorated, in white relief, with a scene depicting the Cupid Seller and this is surrounded by a border of oak leaves and acorns. To the side of the box are six tiny reliefs separated by anthemion.The reliefs are all very good quality and the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue. The inside of the lid has a serrated section on which you would strike your match. Both the box and cover are in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 10cm. Width 5.2cm. Height 2.4cm.
