Item Description
An early 20th century, Wedgwood, pale green jasper dip cruet set with silver mounts, comprising a mustard pot, a salt dish and a pepper pot. Each piece is marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and there are also a couple of impressed workman’s marks and letters. The mounts are fully hallmarked and they are Birmingham silver, dated 1904. The mounts are also engraved with the letters “E.W” which were probably the initials of the original owner. The salt dish is decorated, in white relief, with two scenes showing cherubs and putti at play. The mustard pot and pepper pot are each decorated with two different classical subjects one including Pegasus and another depicting the “Three Graces”. All of the reliefs are good quality. There is a small dent in the silver rim of the pepper pot and the handle of the mustard pot has a crack at the base. Otherwise the three pieces are in good condition.
