Item Details

A Wedgwood, pale green, jasper dip match holder. This is marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1900. It is also impressed with a letter K and a workman’s mark in the shape of a cross within a circle. You would keep matches in this pot, which has a ridged base on which you would strike the match. It is decorated, in white relief, with three different classical subjects and there is a fine border of laurel leaves and berries to the foot. It is in excellent condition.
