Item Description
A Wedgwood, green, jasper dip model of the Portland vase. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1900. It is also impressed with a letter ‘V’. Wedgwood first made a copy of the Portland vase in the 18th century and from then, throughout the history of the pottery, copies were made in various colours and sizes. This example has good quality white relief against a pale green dip background. There are a few firing lines in the relief. This is the result of shrinkage in the kiln and is not damage. The vase is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Height 18cm. Diameter 13cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K., shipping to the U.S.A. and most of Western Europe.
