Item Details

An interesting 19th century, white smear glazed funnel. This is marked “S MAW SON & THOMPSON LONDON” in an applied cartouche. S Maw & Sons were part of a family business which started in the early 19th century producing medical equipment. This period of the factory, when Charles joined his father Solomon started in 1860 so the funnel would date from about 1870. It is in excellent condition but there are firing faults in the cartouche.
