Item Details

A 19th century wooden nutcracker in the shape of humorous, but slightly grotesque, peasant's head. This is carved in walnut, it is probably French and it dates from c.1860. It is very well carved and the wood has a lovely patina. There is a small chip to the end of the nose and a couple of small chips to the screw thread. Otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Length 15.5cm. Width 4.8cm. Depth 5cm.
