An English 1930's chest of drawers.

This was a case of giving real TLC

It's a good shape.

Nice and sturdy.

Drawers running ok.

But what to do with its general demeanour?

We painted it black.

Hint of gilt (to give a little grandeur.)

Then we decorated with horses and a decorative border in the form of decoupage.

Used aging varnish.

Aging wax.

Buffed to a gentle sheen.

Looks a little better than when it arrived at our door...
