Item Details

A stylish brass standard lamp with a dramatic velum shade. The brass has been gently cleaned but nothing more, and is nicely patinated, and there is a heavy cast iron base beneath to ensure stability. The shade is a fabulous example of velum, with panels stitched together with strong twine, and emits a lovely mellow light, and sits above a shade-support. Just a little minor wear to both the brass and shade consistent with age, including a few lost stitches, but nothing off-puttting. Accepts BC bulbs to the switched bulb-holder. The diameter of the base is approximately 38cm.
