Item Details

A really handsome oak shop-keeper’s chest of drawers from a Belgian store. Some lovely almost architectural details, such as the heavily moulded plinth and cornice, and unusual turned columns to each side. The twelve drawers all have cast alloy handles bearing the letters JUD, and the upper two still retain the original escutcheons, although the locks are no longer present. A good colour throughout, and with patination and wear consistent with age. The internal drawer measurements are: H: 16.5cm W: x 31.5cm x D: 32cm. A striking and useful piece, with a relatively small footprint that would work well in any number of settings.
