We absolutely adore silver-gilt mirrors partially because they're so rare and hard to find so this really screamed to us when we saw it at an antiques fair. It's not in perfect condition - there are some knocks and missing edges (as shown in the pictures) but it's completely untouched and such a beautiful colour. Original glass and backing (which has a couple of old woodworm holes which are long gone but treated as a precaution) it's a fabulous piece in a useful size. c.1870.
