Superior Antique Oak Glazed Bookcase Cabinet C1910

We have a high quality English oak glazed bookcase/cabinet - no maker's stamp, highly probable that it was a commissioned piece.

Firstly the timber used is of a lovely grain and tone - leaning towards golden in colour. The piece sits well - not too large in scale, with the top half having a decoratively framed oak pair of doors with original glass hiding a trio of adjustable oak shelves which close by way of a working lock and key. The lower half consists of 2 framed deep oak drawers with drop pendant handles, both working as they should, beneath which sits a two door cupboard with a full shelf inside which could be removed if you desire. The cupboard with panelled doors mimicking the glazed doors to the top closes by way of the same working lock and key. We have a deep plinth to the base, attractive molding, and well sized cornice to the top.

The condition is good. The cabinet sits solid with sensible historic wear but nothing off putting. Our workshop has carefully cleaned the piece and hand waxed to enhance the grain and tone of the English oak. The cabinet is ready for placing and separates into two for easier moving.

A fine English oak glazed bookcase/cabinet.
