Early 19th Century quite possibly late 18th, likely a study for an Aubusson tapestry.



The work has intensive wear but has loads of charm as is. It was relined some time ago but no restoration was started.



The stretcher has also been replaced, although it may originally have started life without a stretcher at all, just a loose cartoon.
