A Victorian brass pen wipe in the shape of a wild boar.


 


In the time before fountain pens, a dip pen would be used for writing, this would require an implement to keep the nib from blocking up with dried ink - hence the pen wipe ! This would come in all shapes and would hold a brush in the back with which to draw the nib through and clean it.


 


A great desk accessory.
