The most fabulous large stoneware jug encrusted with scenes of the gods of wine,Dionysus, Greek god of wine, usually identified with the Roman Bacchus. Du Kang, Chinese Sage of wine. Inventor of wine and patron to the alcohol industry. Hathor, Egyptian goddess of love, passion, wine, and drunkenness..


I love that there is a goddess of drunkenness!


Condition: The jug is great condition with just a small chip to the foot. There is a pewter lip which is loose but original.
