Pteridomania or " fern fever " was a Victorian craze for ferns. Decorative arts of the period presented the fern motif in pottery, glass, metal, textiles and wood, with ferns appearing on everything.

This is a super quality fern engraved comport or Tazza on a pedestal base with a faceted stem. used to display fruit or small pastries.
