Item Details

A large and impressive painted timber and gesso ‘lamm gottes’. Expertly carved, it would have originally been mounted as part of a ciborium or similar. As such, it is carved to the front and not the back, however the head is carved in the round, all with exceptional detail. Late 18th Century, likely Bavaria or Tyrol.
