https://www.thehoarde.com/dealers/cunningham-white-sA West Country stick back Windsor chair, in a ‘blonde’ colour with traces of old paint. The legs, with a subtle line turning on the front, are morticed into the solid sycamore slab seat with its typical straight front. Two turned arm supports and four short spindles support the single piece bentwood arm bow which has a wonderfully characterful shape to it. Seven long spindles travel from the seat, through the arm and up into the back bow. They also have a distinct askew character. The whole chair is solid and stable and ready for daily use in the home. Ash, sycamore and pine. It is a good example of a Cornish Windsor chair and dates to about 1800. Seat height: 43cm
