Item Description

A charming 18th century vernacular tripod or cricket stool. The solid elm top supported by three ash octagonal chamfered legs and strengthened with three simple stretchers, nailed to the legs at either end. The whole piece with traces of old, if not original, green paint and with a desirable colour and patina. Solid and stable. Unusual to find one with a round top, which is far more pleasing than one of the more common rectangular or trapezoid tops. English, late 18th Century. H: 50cm W: 40cm D: 40cmDiameter of top: 27cm
