A lively abstract composition by British artist Jean Patricia Taprell Clark (1930–1973). Sweeping charcoal lines and expressive brushstrokes bring together vivid blue, green, red and yellow against a pale ground.

Jean Patricia Taprell Clark studied at Wimbledon School of Art, where she met fellow student Raymond Briggs, later known for The Snowman and Father Christmas. They married in 1963 and later lived in Sussex.

Presented in a period teak frame, the painting is ready to hang.
