A striking mid-20th century modernist male bust sculpture, mounted on display base and bearing an indistinct impressed signature to the reverse.


This expressive head is rendered in heavily textured cast stone (reconstituted stone), with a beautifully weathered surface showing natural patination in soft greys and mossy green tones. The sculptural quality is particularly strong, with deeply worked features and an almost archaeological presence, giving the piece real depth and character.


The partially obscured signature to the reverse suggests studio or artist production, rather than mass manufacture, adding to its individuality and appeal.


Presented on a metal rod and concrete base, the piece has a reassuringly heavy weight and displays exceptionally well as a standalone object, ideally suited to interiors with a modernist, brutalist or wabi-sabi sensibility.
