Item Details

A striking mid-century modernist oil painting on canvas by French artist Paul Petit. The work depicts two closely grouped figures within an interior, rendered with bold black outlines, simplified forms and a richly textured palette of yellow, green, ochre and earthy red. The expressive composition gives the figures a distinctly sculptural quality, while the vivid background makes this an especially decorative piece.

Signed Petit Paul lower left and presented in its original painted wooden frame.

In good vintage condition with age-related surface and frame wear, as shown.
