Item Details

A walnut case campaign kit shaving mirror. The shaped case opens to an oval shaving mirror with ebony stringing. The frame folding out to form an easel and closes to protect the looking glass. Can also be hung from the loop to the back.
English, circa 1840-1880

Folding campaign mirrors, used by the military when in the field for shaving and generally keeping up appearances, they fold flat to make them portable.
