A studio pottery pedestal bowl with yellow and mottled blue glazes. The bowl has thin walls that show the textured detail further emphasised by the blue and yellow overlays.


Ian Vance creates bold and innovative ceramics in deepest north-west Essex, his designs are both pure pottery forms and expressive sculpture. Ian’s inspiration comes from the natural world, the outlines of mountain ranges with both the shape and surface of exotic desert plants a particular fascination.
