Item Description
This substantial brass ship's bell is emblazoned with the royal insignia of King George VI, who reigned during the Second World War. This is a lovely example of form following function, as it was made for very real wartime purposes: both as a vital part of a ship's safety equipment, and as a symbol to boost the crew's morale. Today it retains a rich patina and is in excellent condition, with its original clanger.
