Gorgeous large speckled hen on her woven straw nest, 'hatching eggs'

Painted Bisque with wonderful, deep, rich colours; the basket is enamelled in deep mustard

Images 6 & 7, both pieces numbered 18 in peach script

Traditionally used for coddling eggs, (Eggs are coddled by submerging the eggs in their shells under boiling water inside the hen until gently poached),for storing eggs or for decorative storage
