This Mercury glass footed bowl has etched 'Honeysuckle' flowers & foliage decoration and is gilded inside

-Mercury glass was originally called- 'Poor Mans Silver'

Mercury glass (silvered glass) is double walled glass with a silvering solution applied between the layers giving it a shining silver appearance

(Called mercury glass though silver nitrate was more commonly used)

The technique originated in Germany C1840's

In immaculate condition, with its original lead seal in the base

Dimensions: Height 13.5cm, diameter at rim 11.25cm, diameter at base 8cm
