Item Description
A charming scratch-built folk-art moneybox in the form of a pretty country cottage, dating to approximately the 1930s. It is made of wood with painted detail of plants and flowers to the sides. The roof is covered with paper to resemble thatch. There are little details such as shutters and window ledges stuck to the sides. There is a slot for money in one side of the roof, and the other is hinged - it locks in place with a little wooden peg. It is quite crudely made, probably by a father for a child, but has all the naive charm of folk-art pieces. The base is felted.
The moneybox is in generally good condition with some wear commensurate with its age and use.
