A superb, matched pair of tub chairs by fine furniture maker Arthur Brett, handcrafted to the highest standards of British furniture making. Believed to have been commissioned in the 1980s, these chairs come from a large collection assembled by an owner with a long-standing passion for Arthur Brett’s work. Each chair features a solid cherry wood frame with a deep, rich tone that beautifully contrasts the original navy-blue upholstery; brass stud detailing adds a further touch of classic refinement.


The tub silhouette provides an elegant country-house aesthetic while retaining clean proportions that also suit contemporary interiors. The seats offer a sturdy footing and a comfortable, high seating position with excellent back support — the tub form gently hugs the sitter. The pair is well preserved and in excellent structural order, showing only minor age-appropriate surface wear.
