A substantial reclaimed Victorian York stone garden table, formed from a single impressive sandstone slab resting on two simple plinth supports. The generously scaled top has a superbly weathered patina and characterful natural surface, giving the piece the quiet authority and time-worn beauty of an established English country-house garden feature.


Low in profile, the table is also a practical height for informal seating, display or use as an orangery or loggia table. Its elemental construction, generous proportions and softly aged sandstone would make a striking focal point in a garden, courtyard or conservatory, while indoors it could introduce natural texture and sculptural presence to an organic interior scheme.


A beautiful English country-house piece, it would settle naturally into an established landscape or lend immediate age and permanence to a newly formed garden. Genuine, authentic pieces of this scale and character are becoming increasingly rare to find, particularly with such a substantial single stone top and well-developed weathered surface. Its weathering, surface variation and irregularities are integral to the character of reclaimed stone and make this table unique.


Design idea
A square planter placed centrally on the stone top could create a striking four-sided seating arrangement, making the piece especially effective as a garden, courtyard or orangery focal point.

Each plinth foot: 33 cm high × 23 cm wide × 66 cm long (13 in × 9 in × 26 in)
Condition: Good antique condition with pronounced natural weathering, a natural riven surface, tonal variation and age-related wear consistent with its outdoor use and reclaimed character.


Installation and handling
This piece is freestanding; however, because of its size and weight, professional installation by an experienced landscape gardener or builder is recommended on a suitable, prepared foundation. The top rests freely upon the plinth feet. For a stable and level installation, we recommend bedding it on a suitable mortar bed or using lead packers, as appropriate, to prevent rocking. Specialist lifting and handling equipment will be required.
