An exceptional 4ft solid Welsh slate bench, meticulously handcrafted for interior and garden designers. The honed top has a beautifully smooth finish, contrasted by a chiselled edge that introduces texture, character and a quietly sculptural quality to the piece.


Suitable for both indoor and outdoor spaces, the bench is crafted from natural Welsh slate sourced from the renowned slate mines in the foothills of Snowdonia National Park. Measuring 4ft in length, with a substantial 45mm thick slate top set on two bolster feet, it has a strong architectural presence while remaining understated and highly versatile.


The natural texture and tonal variation within the slate create a rugged, tactile quality that works especially well in pared-back interiors and architectural garden settings. There is a distinct wabi-sabi sensibility to the material, with subtle shifts of tone and natural markings that celebrate the beauty of imperfection and ensure that each bench is individual.


Simple in form yet rich in material character, the slate top resting on two bolster supports gives the bench a monolithic, grounded appearance. It is equally effective as functional seating or as a sculptural design feature, bringing natural elegance, permanence and craftsmanship to both contemporary and traditional spaces.


Renowned for its resistance to weathering, fading and deterioration, Welsh slate is an exceptionally durable material that will endure for generations with minimal maintenance. The bench is free standing and weighs approximately 220kg; for installation, we recommend placing it on a firm and level base, with mortar used if required for additional stability.
