A set of four handmade wrought iron and leather stitched armchairs, designed by Jacques Adnet.

Adnet was an Art Deco modernist designer and although these Chairs were designed later in his career, they still have an Art Deco feel to them and a distinctive look that is unmatched by other furniture of the period.  The heavy iron frames have a hairpin like design, and arched backs with curved arms, the frame is encased in leather with a heavy stich.  Stylish designer pieces, originally designed as patio furniture, the chairs stack for ease of storage.  They have a Spanish revival feel and would look perfect as dining chairs or on a loggia.

These set of four have a lovely worn patina to the leather but are in remarkable condition, the leather does vary in colour from chair to chair, two in a lighter tan colour and the others in chestnut and dark brown.  All finished with solid brass ball finials to the tops.

They have a comfortable seating position with a wide padded seat and good sturdy backrest, arms are also padded around the iron frame.  The frames are pained black, the paint has an enamel type look to it which suggests these may have been repainted at some point during their life.

Seat height = 48cm / 18.75inches
Arm height = 65cm / 25.5inches
