This is a characterful French early 19th Century hand-hammered copper portable water carrier with swing handle. It oozes country house style and will look at home in a kitchen as a decorative item or as a fireplace accessory. Age can be evidenced from the hand forged rivets. Originally the carrier would have had a tap or spout which has been removed. Pictures of the repair are shown. The surface shows a busy and useful life.
