Antique desk or work lamp marked "Supreme" ADAPT-O-LITE to the central riser mechanism and the base. English 1920s-30s. An excellent, fully adjustable table or work lamp and hard to find.One of two similar lamps i currently have for sale. Made from chromed brass with a spun aluminium shade and a cast iron weighted base.The height adjusts by a clever friction mechanism that moves up and down the central stem.The angle of the arm adjusts and the shade is also adjustable,being attached to the arm with a ball and socket joint. The lamp has been completely dis-assembled, cleaned, polished,rebuilt and rewired with 3 meters (exposed) light grey/white fabric flex and a hard plastic white plug.The original switched lampholder has been retained. Dimensions in inches/cms; 30.5"/77cms maximum height. 15.5"/39.5cms minimum height (of central stem) Base is 7.5"/19cms diameter Max width is 26.5"/68cms
