Item Description
An antique French deep blue mercury glass witches ball, circa 1900, the pressed metal crown impressed VG 1721 (for Vergo Glass- the numbers 1721 referring to the date the factory was founded).
Hand blown glass and with original hanging pressed loop crown attachment. When when hung witches balls reflect the entire room but were commonly hung in windows to deter 'witches' or the 'evil eye'.
The condition is largely what one would like and expect to find in an original antique example with pitting and character marks with age and remains very original. There are no cracks or damages.
