A mid-century oil on canvas by Ray Whittaker titled 'Provencal Farmhouse' depicting a row of farm buildings in a stylised cubist manner, painted in thick impasto in bold colours, within original frame with linen slip. Sined lower right.

With original gallery sale listing for a one man exhibition at The Old Bakehouse Gallery, Sevenoaks 1977/78. 

Ray Whittaker was an art teacher throughout the 1960's and 1970's at Sidup and Bromley Schools of Art and later at Ravensbourne College of Art & Design. He exhibited widely both in the UK and France where he had a home.
