This 'Smoke "Marcella" Cigars' enamel sign is a bit of a rarity; not a lot of advertising exists for Marcella cigars and enamel signage is scarcer still.

Marcella's cigars were advertised from the early 20th century through to the 1950s - initially adverts promoted their appeal to soldiers 'all ranks smoke Marcella cigars' and in latter years adverts were aimed towards 'men at leisure'... This sign is likely to date around the 1930s and has survived the decades in decent order with a good surface gloss and bright white and green enamel layers. There's some surface scratching and a few areas of enamel loss around the outer edges, esp. the mounting holes plus a couple of areas of loss around both the R of Marcella and the R of cigars.

The sign can be hung using the original mounting holes and displays well. It measures 76cm wide x 30.5cm (1') high.
