This charming screen / litho printed advertising sign for the Birmingham (UK) based Meddocream Ice Cream makers is an unusual survivor.

Dating to the 1950s, it's been printed onto fibreboard and carefully framed with a wooden surround complete with brass corners. It's not something I've seen done before; the wooden frame is either a latter addition or a very small batch manufacture. The printed fibreboard is inherently more vulnerable than it's enamelled counterparts and so surviving examples of this type of advertising are scarce.
This particular piece evidences a life lived with fading, marks and scratches but generally these should be considered to add to it's vintage aesthetic without overly impacting the legibility of the piece. It displays well and is softer than a lot of advertising from the period.

It measures 64.5cm high x 49.5cm wide and is around 2cm thick. Hanging string could easily be attached or it stands well.
