https://www.thehoarde.com/dealers/ljw-antiquesPhillips Cycles Ltd was a British bicycle manufacturer based in Smethwick near Birmingham, England. Its history began in the early 20th century and ended in the 1980s when it became part of Raleigh Industries.
For a number of years, the company was the second-largest bicycle producer in Britain, after Raleigh.
This vibrant poster is likely to date to the 1950s; it boasts "The world's most famous quality bicycle fitments" and displays some fine illustrations of their various components.
This isn't a poster design I've seen before, though the colour-scheme and style match Phillips other marketing from the era. This example came from the stores of a closed down bicycle shop; it was never displayed and subsequently the condition and the colours remain excellent. There's some light oil(?) marking around the mid-left of the poster but for an original example it has to be considered to be in very good condition.
Professionally framed and ready to hang, it measures 78cm wide x 53.5cm high.
