A unexpected survivor, this is the printed lid off a Players "Drumhead" Cigarettes packing crate from the 1930s.

A lovely, detailed design - quite amazing considering this was for the crate the cigarettes were sent to the shop in, so just the wholesale packaging! The rest of the crate as long gone, but this thick card / board panel displays well on it's own merits with the look / feel of a sign without the price tag!

It's survived in very good order considering it's vulnerability - there are some faint water marks top and bottom, a couple of losses around the outer edges but generally the colours remain vibrant and the printed area is in decent order.

It measures 75.5cm high x 42cm wide x 0.4cm thick
