Item Details

A fine oil painting on prepared artist's board of a Fox Terrier dog, unsigned but attributed to Edward Aistrop (British, active 1880-1920).


Painted around the turn of the century, the dog is presented in it's original gilded frame. The painting itself is in excellent, clean and bright condition. The frame is showing signs of wear, it would be easily restored but personally I love the untouched look and the slight juxtaposition between the crisp painting and the time worn frame; makes the dog's depiction appear all the punchier!


Including the frame, the piece measures 27.5cm square.
