Item Details

This vintage transfer of an RAF No.3 Squadron crest is presented on paper, framed and glazed. The presentation is vintage, c.1940s-50s. The paper background has yellowed slightly and has some foxing and the frame some light scuffs and marks but generally it's a good, original presentation of an iconic Royal Air Force crest.

No. 3 Squadron was originally formed in 1912 as part of the Royal Flying Corps. It became one of the RAF's oldest continuously serving squadrons and flew many famous aircraft over the years. The Welsh dragon reflects the squadron's historical connections with Wales.

Including the frame, this measures 36cm high x 31cm wide and is ready to hang.
