Item Details

A lovely, original Southern Railway Company enamel sign from Waterloo Station (London), dated 1925.

The notice is regarding the propping up of wagon doors and has all of the superfluous wording that you would hope for on an early 20th century piece of signage; "The company's servants have authority to take such steps..." etc etc. They certainly weren't paying by the letter!

A smaller sized enamel sign that has survived the decades in excellent order with the background remaining bright and the lettering crisp. There's a nice surface gloss with only light scratches and slight chipping around the outer edges of the sign ... About as good as you could hope to find.

The sign measures 45cm high x 35cm wide.
