Something a little different - this is a framed sheet of unformed 'A L'Elephant' safety match packets. For whatever reason this particular sheet escaped the factory's forming press and has found it's way behind glass, in a frame, giving it a very 'pop art' feel. 

 

I'd guess that the Belgian made match packets were running through a printing press in the 1950s and this sheet has yellowed with time - a darker crease runs through the middle but for a bit of ephemera that really shouldn't have survived at all, it's in good order with a rewarding amount of detail to be seen upon closer inspection...

 

The piece measures 89cm high x 41cm wide x 3cm deep.
