This set of metal lockers probably date from the mid-20th century and over the years have developed the most wonderful patina to their painted surface.
The lockers have an 18 door configuration with an individual compartment large enough to contain a pair of shoes - perfect for organising a hallway, bedroom etc. Each door is vented and they are fitted with a mix of metal handles.
I suspect that they've come over from India (though possibly started their life back in England) where the dry climate and a mend-and-maintain attitude have allowed character to form by the bucket load.
They were originally painted in a dark green, which is still visibile inside the lockers (some compartments with a fantastic craqueleur) whilst the outside has at some point been repainted in a light grey, perhaps a cream, which has worn through to the original green in some areas and to the metal in others.
The lockers stand 6' 6" tall (197cm) x 3ft (91cm wide) x 49cm deep.
